End of East End Tales Evaluation

On Thursday, we did a rehearsal for most of the day.  We talked on how we should improve for the show on the night. We talked about our 3 things we hope to achieve at the end of the night. I said, Remember my lines, Focus, and of course have fun. We all wanted it to pay off for all the hard work and it did. We spent weeks on focusing on the play itself and then later on we started to pick it up by the feet.    It was important for us to know  the small bits in our play. How we moved the stools and our facial expressions which makes our play better for us and the audience watching.

Working on the Script was fairly hard as we weren't use to the dialogue.  It was a poem like play which made me a bit worried on how the play will go down. But Miss Goodall made it into  a more enjoyable play to learn and perform than how it was written.  From what I can remember, I learnt my lines pretty quickly however when I should go on and myqueues  was tricky so I needed the script for that purpose.

The Show:

We had around three shows, 1.  To the Post 16. They gave us advice on how to speak clearly when saying lines. And  when it came to the play I took that on board.  The Second Show we performed at 5pm to parents and peers. That was such a good feeling when they clapped at the end and had smiles on they faces at funny scenes and more sad-like faces when the dark scenes came on which as actors we liked to see that.   The next and last show was the big one. My mum was there so I felt to perform my heart out  one last time. When Miss Goodall said this would be the last time we performed EET together as a company It really hit me hard and the energy in the room  lifted once again and we all came together as a family to wrap up the evening.

1.  Try not to use the script

2.  Concentrate on the task ahead

3.   Stay in role throughout the rehearsal.

Reflect on the targets set:  Have they been achieved? How?

At first coming to the lesson, i knew for certain i will not use my script. Knowning its the last rehearsal i put it down and just winged it. and i doubted my self to mess up but i didn't. I reached my target for concentrated, i thought i was quick to react to scene changing and people messing up. That brings me to my last target that i reached as i stayed in role throughout the show. Even when Miss S,  was talking i was still in role and of course i was paying attention.

My Targets:

3. Try not to look at my scipt,

Reflect on the targets set:  Have they been achieved? How?

Focusing is easy, just as long as i don't get distracted by others. Leaning my lines this term has ben fairly easy but hard. As i don have that much too say although i need my script to see when my que's are.

Ensemble -Thursday 11th December (Updated)

                   Ensemble.

Ensemble  is when everyone is invloved   in the play. Actors and Actress play a equal part when peforming.

The whole play was my favourite part. All of it was an enemble and it really worked well but my favourite piece was the pub scene as it was fun to peform and looked good to audiences  watching.

To make the ensemble work we all had to focus and the timing had to be right for it to work.

Creating Tale 3 and the start of Tale 4.

Creating Tale 3 and the start of Tale 4.

TALE 3
  • How have we decided to stage Tale 3?
  • What characters do you play in this tale?
  • What is the atmosphere of Tale 3? How is this different to what we have created for Tale 1 & 2?

1.  We decided to stage Tale 3 as all the boys are  in a line with stools starting with a mexican wave type thing. Then we sit in the stools and stand round them and the girls join us and drink with us. Then when London Calling starts (Chorus)  we drink in slow motion then afterwards we cay on with the first line of the tale.  We set up a Mini Bar. and people around it can do things like; Stacking Cris, Playing darts etc..

The Character i play is one of the many loud, proud cockney geezah who enjoys a good drink and darts, I have a few lines nearer to the end of the tale.

Atmosphere of Tale 3 is so diffrent as everyone is quiet in Tale 1 and 2  whereas in Tale 3 everyone is loud, happy and you can feel the difference in scenes.

TALE 4

  • How have we decided to stage Tale 4?
  • What characters do you play in this tale?

1. We decided to stage Tale 4, when Tale3 ends, Connor and others that are behind the bar put a mini couch for me infront of the bar ready for me to sit.     As i'm sitting there, The others in the scene create a road for Nina as she crosses the road with Jamie.  I play the dad who wants cigarettes left right and centre. My Role is to get angry with Nina for not brining back his fags. I felt i did a pretty good job at shouting at her.

Starting Monologues

So start of this term we set out to start our individual monologues for (maybe) start of the show in the next term. Chris the teacher put us in 2's and told us to direct each other on how to perform our monologues. It was interesting to see other people's monologues and how they are so different to mine. I did a monologue on how a taxi driver comes across an terrorist attack  while on his shift. I was working with Lloyd and because we work well together it was fun.  We both directed each other on how we should say a line or how we should sit. We wasn't to bossy to eachother but  loved the fact we could be a little director.  When we got to perform I just remembered what Lloyd told me and I was good.

After the performance I felt a bit disappointed so was Lloyd if I can remember correctly. We messed up and that's what kind of stuck in our mind.
